Best of Punto y Raya Festival – 2023

These are the finalist and awarded films in the eighth edition of Punto y Raya Festival, renowned as the world event for Abstract Art in Motion. The programme comprises 17 exquisite works hailing from 15 countries, that delve into a rich tapestry of animation techniques. From traditional drawing to generative art, from direct-on-film to video-feedback, each piece offers a unique exploration of the abstract form. 

Punto y Raya fosters audiovisual art in its purest state: Form, Colour, Motion and Sound. No representation! Its mission is to recapture the spirit of Cinéma Pure and Absolute Film formulated by the European avant-garde in the 1920s, consolidating this unique artform at the intersection of Fine Arts and Media.

PyR Festival 2023 was held in Lisbon, a collaborative effort between MAD (ES) and MONSTRA Festival (PT), further enriching the global dialogue on abstract visual expression.
